[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”9204″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Christmas is a time for joy, inclusivity and coming together, and as we approach the festive season these traits have been demonstrated well in Hong Kong sport, as the Asian Football Confederation approaches its one year anniversary of working on a programme dedicated to empowering women through football in the region.[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”9202″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”9203″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text]Thanks to initiatives like the Hong Kong Football Association (HKFA) Legacy Programme, Girls’ and Womens’ football is gaining increasing traction and momentum across the globe, and the aims of the project in HK are to encourage and increase participation levels, whilst highlighting physical health benefits and other career pathways for women through sport. Since 2015 alone, participation levels in female football has risen 70% thanks to initiatives from the government and HKFA, so it’s clear to see it’s a primary aim in Hong Kong.

Sport4Kids already run a number of classes where girls are welcomed and encouraged, none more so than our Girls Only soccer classes, details of which you can see here.[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”9200″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”9201″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text]All of our multi-sport classes are also designed to welcome and include girls and boys and gives children the opportunity to try a number of sports whilst they are young; something which a number of studies have shown is linked to children continuing to play a sport for the rest of their lives.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”9199″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]The HKFA Legacy Programme itself is delivered through a number of stakeholders in Hong Kong, so expect more events coming up over the course of the next months and years. You can read more about the project here.

If you are or know of a female in your life who is looking to get involved in football or improve their game, please get in touch.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”9197″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
